Kraft Heinz Financial Overview 2021–2025

Updated Nov 4, 2026

Kraft Heinz wrote down $9.3 billiona of goodwill and intangibles in FY2025, turning $2.7 billion of net income in FY2024 into a $5.8 billion net loss. The charge is non-cash, but it signals that the market and management now value the brand portfolio far below what the balance sheet carried. The core thesis: the cash engine still works, but volume is shrinking and the asset base is being repriced.

The long-term arc shows the squeeze. Net sales slid from $26.04 billion in FY2021 to $24.9 billionb in FY2025, and FY2025 volume/mix fell 4.1 points, outweighing just 0.7 points of pricing. Pricing carried the story earlier: it added 13.2 points in FY2022, but it has since faded. Adjusted EPS peaked at $3.06 in FY2024 and dropped 15.0% to $2.60 in FY2025. Adjusted Operating Income fell 11.5% to $4.7 billion.

Cash and capital returns look sturdier than earnings. FY2025 operating cash flow was $4.5 billionc, against $801 million of capex and $1.9 billion of dividends. Long-term debt eased from $21.8 billion at FY2021 to $21.2 billion at FY2025, though ratings now carry negative watch or review flags. Valuation reflects the damage. At the close of FY2025, the stock sat at $24.13, for a $28.6 billion market cap. Reported EPS was $(4.93), so no meaningful P/E exists. Earnings were $2.26 at FY2024, so the swing is stark.

Recent Developments (Q1 and Q2 2026)

Kraft Heinz booked $7.35 billiond of impairments in Q2 2026, producing a $5.46 billion net loss, or $(4.60) per share. Kraft, Oscar Mayer and Lunchables were written to zero excess fair value, and management warned of more charges. Underneath, Q2 2026 Adjusted Operating Income fell 18.4% to $1.04 billion, and Organic Net Sales slipped 1.3% as volume/mix fell 2.6 points. Q1 2026 Adjusted EPS fell 6.5% to $0.58. The separation remains paused. Debt fell to $19.0 billion after a $1.9 billion note repayment and a $1.4 billion tender. Management raised its investment plan to about $700 million and narrowed Adjusted EPS guidance to $2.03–$2.09.

Bull case: free cash flow conversion is guided near 110%, leverage is falling, and Emerging Markets grew 10.4%. Bear case: North America fell 2.7%, ratings carry negative flags, and the general counsel and a senior sales executive have resigned. At $25.03e as of the Q2 2026 report date (August 4, 2026), the stock has no meaningful P/E on $(4.93) reported EPS.

What to watch: further impairments on thin-headroom brands; North America volume trend and a Moody's downgrade decision

  3. 8-KKraft Heinz 8-K Report, Corporate Update (Oct 7, 2026)In an 8-K filed October 7, 2026 under Item 8.01, The Kraft Heinz Company disclosed that in the third quarter of 2026 it reorganized its internal reporting and reportable segments.
