ResMed Financial Overview 2022–2026

Updated Nov 4, 2026

ResMed's market value fell by $9.7 billiona, from $37.8 billion at the close of FY2025 to $28.1 billion at the close of FY2026, even though earnings per share rose to $10.43 from $9.51. That is the core thesis: the business kept compounding, and the multiple did the shrinking. The stock closed at $258.00 on the FY2025 date, or 27.1x earnings, then at $194.88 on the FY2026 date, or 18.7x.

The long-term record is hard to argue with. Revenue grew from $3.58 billion in FY2022 to $5.65 billionb in FY2026, and diluted EPS nearly doubled from $5.30 to $10.43. Gross margin widened from 56.6% to 61.1% over the same stretch. Growth in FY2026 held at 10%, with Sleep and Breathing Health up 10% to $4.98 billion. Residential Care Software lagged at 5% growth.

The balance sheet gives management room to act. Operating cash flow reached $1.81 billionc in FY2026. Cash of $1.47 billion sat against just $660 million of debt. The company returned $700 million through buybacks and $350 million through dividends. It also agreed to sell MatrixCare for $490 million in cash. Not everything was clean: Q4 2026 gross margin dipped to 58.8% on $41.9 million of Astral field safety expenses.

Recent Developments (Q4 2026 and Q1 2027)

Q1 2027 brought the MatrixCare close and a large capital return. Revenue rose 6% to $1.415 billiond, while Sleep and Breathing Health grew 8%. Non-GAAP gross margin gained 50 basis points to 62.5%. GAAP EPS rose 23% to $2.92, helped by a $62 million pre-tax divestiture gain. Operating income barely moved, at $453 million versus $447 million. Free cash flow fell 10% to $374 million on higher inventory. ResMed returned over $1.0 billion in the quarter, including a $450 million accelerated repurchase, and repaid $250 million of notes. Fiscal 2027 guidance held at $12.00 to $12.25 non-GAAP EPS. Audit work moves from KPMG to PricewaterhouseCoopers for FY2027.

The bull case: margins are expanding, debt is down to $410 millione, and buybacks shrink the share count. The bear case: core growth guidance of 5% to 7% is slower, and the Q1 2027 EPS beat leaned on a one-time gain. At 22.0x earnings as of the October 29, 2026 quarterly report date, the stock sits above the 18.7x year-end level. That price is not today's.

What to watch: Free cash flow and inventory trends against the 5% to 7% growth guide; ASR settlement by December 2026
