Tapestry Financial Overview 2022–2026

Updated Nov 4, 2026

Tapestry's operating income jumped from $415.0 million in FY2025 to $1.91 billiona in FY2026, a 23.9% operating margin. The swing matters because the prior year carried $854.8 million of Kate Spade impairments. The core thesis: Coach is doing the heavy lifting, and it is now powerful enough to carry the whole company while Kate Spade shrinks.

Over the full span, net sales grew from $6.68 billion in FY2022 to $8.00 billionb in FY2026. Gross margin climbed from 69.6% to 77.8% over the same stretch. In FY2026, Coach sales rose 23.5% to $6.91 billion, while Kate Spade fell 10.2% to $1.07 billion. Diluted EPS reached $7.27, against $0.82 a year earlier. Tariffs trimmed gross margin by roughly 130 basis points, and the company still expanded it by 240 basis points.

The balance sheet moved from deal risk to capital returns. The failed Capri bid left $6.14 billionc of cash and heavy debt at the end of FY2024. By FY2026, debt was about $2.38 billion, operating cash flow hit $1.98 billion, and the company repurchased $1.55 billion of stock and paid $326.1 million in dividends. Buybacks and impairments pushed equity down to $692.1 million. The market noticed the recovery. At the close of FY2025, the shares traded at 106.2x earnings on depressed EPS, with a $18.1 billion market cap. At the close of FY2026, the price was $146.00, 20.1x earnings, for a $29.3 billion market cap.

Recent Developments (Q3 and Q4 2026)

Growth slowed through the back half. Q3 2026 net sales rose 21.2% to $1.92 billiond, with Coach up 31.5%. Q4 2026 net sales were $1.88 billion, up only 9% reported, with Coach up 15% and Kate Spade down 7%. Q3 operating margin was 22.3%, versus 16.0% a year earlier, and tariffs cut Q3 gross margin by about 180 basis points. Management raised its outlook in May, then guided FY2027 revenue to $8.4 to $8.5 billion and non-GAAP EPS to $7.80 to $7.90. The board lifted the quarterly dividend 16% to $0.4625.

The bull case: Coach is still compounding, Greater China pro forma sales rose 61% in Q3, and the multiple is modest. The bear case: Coach growth halved from Q3 to Q4, and Kate Spade lost $20.7 millione at the operating level in Q3. At 17.7x earnings as of 2026-08-12, on a $128.39 close, the stock looks reasonably priced. That date is not today.

What to watch: Coach growth against the FY2027 guide; collection of the $114.7 million IEEPA tariff refund
