02—Overview
Atlassian Financial Overview 2022–2026
Updated Nov 4, 2026Atlassian's share price fell from $203.09 at the close of FY2025 to $77.79a at the close of FY2026, a drop of roughly 62%, in the same year revenue grew 26% and the company finally posted a $10.4 million GAAP operating profit. The thesis: the business is compounding faster and getting more profitable, yet the market repriced it hard, and a $1.32 billion free cash flow engine with heavy buybacks is the counterweight.
Revenue climbed from $2.80 billion in FY2022 to $6.57 billionb in FY2026. Over the same stretch, GAAP operating results moved from a $106.5 million loss to that small profit, and net loss per share narrowed from $2.05 to $0.21. Gross margin reached 85% in FY2026, up from 83% a year earlier. Cloud revenue hit $4.41 billion, up 28%, while non-GAAP operating margin reached 30%.
The caveats are specific. Stock-based compensation hit $1.36 billionc in FY2025, the main reason GAAP results stayed negative. FY2026 free cash flow slipped from $1.42 billion to $1.32 billion, and restructuring charges totaled $285.4 million. Atlassian spent about $1.8 billion on buybacks and roughly $1.2 billion on acquisitions, cutting cash from $2.51 billion to $1.24 billion. Fiscal FY2026 also closed with the FY2027 revenue growth outlook at about 13%, a sharp step down from 26%.
Recent Developments (Q3 and Q4 2026)
Q4 flipped the profit picture. Q4 2026 GAAP operating income was $211 milliond, a 12% margin, against a $28 million loss a year earlier. In Q3 2026 the company posted a $56.3 million operating loss. Q4 revenue was $1.77 billion, up 28%, versus $1.79 billion and 32% growth in Q3. Cloud revenue grew 31% to $1.21 billion. Subscription ARR reached $6.61 billion, up 23%, and remaining performance obligations rose 44% to $4.82 billion. CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes plans open-market purchases of up to $250 million of Class A stock.
The bull case: the 36% non-GAAP operating margin and the RPO jump point to durable cloud demand. The bear case: FY2027 guidance calls for 18% ARR growth and a 17% Data Center decline as that product is retired. At $162.22e on 2026-08-13, a P/E is not meaningful because trailing GAAP earnings were negative.
What to watch: Cloud growth against the 25.5% guide; Data Center attrition and migration pace

Quarterly total revenue was $1,766 million, up 28% year-over-year from $1,384 million, and Cloud revenue was $1,213 million, up 31%. Subscription ARR reached $6,606 million, up 23% from $5,382 million, and remaining performance obligations were $4,817 million, up 44% year-over-year. Fourth-quarter GAAP operating income was $211 million, a 12% operating margin, compared with an operating loss of $28 million a year earlier. Non-GAAP operating margin was 36%, and free cash flow was $475 million. For fiscal year 2026, total revenue was $6,572 million, up 26%, and GAAP net loss was $54 million, compared with a net loss of $257 million in fiscal 2025. For fiscal year 2027, the company guided to total revenue growth of approximately 13.0%, Subscription ARR growth of approximately 18.0%, and Cloud revenue growth of approximately 25.5%, while Data Center revenue is expected to decline approximately (17.0%). First-quarter fiscal 2027 total revenue is expected to be in the range of $1,705 million to $1,715 million. The shareholder letter attributes the expected Data Center decline to lapping upfront term license revenue recognition tied to the announced Data Center end-of-life in March 2029, along with continued migrations to Cloud. The company also expects GAAP operating margin of approximately 4.5% and non-GAAP operating margin of approximately 25.0% for fiscal 2027. Capital returns and governance were also highlighted. The company repurchased $348 million of stock in the fourth quarter and $1.8 billion for the full year, and about $1.9 billion of repurchase authorization remains. Co-founder and CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes announced an intention to enter a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan for open market purchases of up to $250 million of Class A Common Stock, with trading to begin no earlier than the close of trading on August 7, 2026. Ken Exner joined as Chief Product Officer, Enterprise and Emerging, on August 4, 2026.
- 8-KAtlassian 8-K Report, Financial Results (Apr 30, 2026)Atlassian Corporation (NASDAQ: TEAM) furnished an 8-K on April 30, 2026 under Item 2.02 containing its press release and shareholder letter for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, ended March 31, 2026. Total revenue was $1,787.0 million, up 32% year-over-year from $1,356.7 million, with Cloud revenue of $1,132.4 million, up 29%. Cloud growth accelerated, and Data Center revenue grew 44% year-over-year, which the company attributes largely to a Data Center end-of-life term license revenue recognition impact and pull-forward purchasing. Remaining performance obligations rose 37% to $4.0 billion. Profitability was mixed on a GAAP basis. The company reported an operating loss of $56.3 million (operating margin of (3%)) and a net loss of $98.4 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, after restructuring charges of $223.8 million tied to rebalancing resources and consolidating leases. On a non-GAAP basis, operating income was $607.2 million (34% margin) and non-GAAP net income was $456.5 million, or $1.75 per diluted share. Operating cash flow was $567.5 million and free cash flow was $561.3 million, a 31% free cash flow margin. Cash and cash equivalents totaled $1.1 billion at quarter end. For the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, Atlassian guided to total revenue of $1,653 million to $1,661 million, GAAP operating margin of approximately 4.5%, and non-GAAP operating margin of approximately 30.5%. For full-year fiscal 2026, it expects total revenue growth of approximately 24.0%, Cloud growth of approximately 26.5%, and GAAP operating margin of approximately (2.0%). The shareholder letter notes that Data Center revenue growth is expected to decelerate meaningfully in FY27 as the end-of-life impact is lapped.
- 8-KAtlassian 8-K Report, Exit or Disposal Costs (Mar 11, 2026)Atlassian Corporation announced on March 11, 2026 a restructuring that eliminates certain roles and impacts approximately 10% of its workforce (the CEO's update cites roughly 1,600 employees). The stated goals are to rebalance the company to self-fund further investment in AI and enterprise sales, reorganize teams around the Atlassian System of Work, and optimize for long-term operational efficiency and sustainability. The Company estimates charges of approximately $225 million to $236 million, of which about $169 million to $174 million is expected to result in future cash outlays for severance, notice period, employee transition and benefits, and about $56 million to $62 million for exit charges tied to office space reductions. The majority of charges are expected in the third quarter of fiscal 2026, with actions substantially complete by the end of the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. The Company intends to exclude these charges from its non-GAAP financial measures. The filing also reaffirms financial guidance for the third quarter of fiscal 2026 (ending March 31, 2026) and the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, as previously provided in its February 5, 2026 earnings release. Separately, Chief Technology Officer Rajeev Rajan will step down effective March 31, 2026; Taroon Mandhana (CTO Teamwork) and Vikram Rao (CTO Enterprise and Chief Trust Officer) were named to succeed in those roles' responsibilities. The CEO's employee update, filed as Exhibit 99.1, states the company is accelerating its path to sustained GAAP profitability and that cloud revenue growth accelerated to 25%+ last quarter, with RPO growth of 40%+. For investors, the key points are the size of the one-time charges, the expected cash component, the explicit commitment to GAAP profitability, and the reaffirmed guidance. The Company cautions that actual expenses may differ materially from estimates and that additional charges may arise.
- 8-KAtlassian 8-K Report, Executive Changes (Feb 18, 2026)Atlassian Corporation filed this Current Report on Form 8-K under Item 5.02 to announce the appointment of James Chuong as Chief Financial Officer, effective March 30, 2026, when he will become the company's principal financial officer. Mr. Chuong, age 46, has served as Chief Financial Officer at LinkedIn, a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation, since July 2021, and previously held several finance leadership roles at LinkedIn since 2013. Before LinkedIn, he was an investment banker at J.P. Morgan, Citigroup, and Bank of America Securities. Under his Offer Letter, Mr. Chuong will receive an annual base salary of $600,000, a target annual bonus equal to 75% of base salary, and an initial grant of restricted stock units with a target value of $22 million that vest quarterly over four years. He will also receive a one-time $2 million signing bonus, which is subject to repayment if he resigns within twelve months of starting. He will be eligible for severance and change in control benefits under the Amended and Restated Executive Severance Plan and will enter into the company's standard indemnification agreement. The filing states there are no arrangements under which Mr. Chuong was named an executive officer and no related party transactions requiring disclosure under Item 404(a) of Regulation S-K.
- 8-KAtlassian 8-K Report, Financial Results (Feb 5, 2026)Atlassian Corporation (NASDAQ: TEAM) furnished this Form 8-K under Item 2.02 to report results for its second quarter of fiscal year 2026, the quarter ended December 31, 2025, along with a shareholder letter. Total revenue was $1,586.3 million, up 23% from $1,286.5 million a year earlier. Cloud revenue was $1,067.0 million, up 26%, and remaining performance obligations reached $3.8 billion, up 44% year-over-year. GAAP operating loss was $47.7 million (operating margin of (3%)), while non-GAAP operating income was $430.2 million (27% margin). GAAP net loss was $42.6 million, or $0.16 per diluted share, compared with a $0.15 loss a year earlier. Free cash flow was $168.5 million, compared with $342.6 million in the prior-year quarter, and the company attributed the decline primarily to timing of cash collections and tax payments. Management raised its fiscal 2026 total revenue growth outlook to approximately 22.0% and its Cloud revenue growth outlook to approximately 24.3%, citing the DX acquisition, which the shareholder letter says contributed roughly one percentage point to Cloud growth. The company expects GAAP operating margin of approximately (3.0%) and non-GAAP operating margin of approximately 25.5% for fiscal 2026. Atlassian also said it plans to accelerate share repurchases in the second half of fiscal 2026 relative to the first half, and that in January alone it repurchased more shares than in all of Q2. Cash and cash equivalents plus marketable securities totaled $1.6 billion at quarter end, and long-term debt was $988.6 million. The filing also reports that the company completed acquisitions of DX and The Browser Company of New York during the quarter, which contributed to higher operating expenses and headcount, which rose to 14,626. GAAP operating expenses increased 25% year-over-year. Anil Sabharwal was appointed to the Board of Directors. The information in this Item 2.02 is furnished rather than filed for purposes of Section 18 of the Exchange Act.
