02—Overview
Omnicom Group Financial Overview 2021–2025
Updated Nov 4, 2026Omnicom's FY2025 revenue rose 10.1% to $17.27 billiona, yet the company lost money. Operating margin collapsed to 2.6% from 14.5%, leaving a net loss of $54.5 million, or $(0.27) per share. The cause was the IPG merger, which brought $2,141.4 million of severance, disposal and deal costs. The central claim is that FY2025 looks like a one-time reset rather than a broken earnings engine, but the bill for that reset now sits on the balance sheet.
The longer arc supports that reading. Revenue climbed from $14,289.4 million in FY2021 to $17.27 billionb in FY2025, while diluted EPS rose from $6.53 to $7.46 by FY2024. Operating margin stayed between 14.3% and 15.4% across FY2021 to FY2024, and organic growth hit 5.2% in FY2024. IPG is included only from November 26, 2025, so FY2025 is not comparable with earlier years. Operating cash flow reached $2.94 billion and cash ended at $6.88 billion, but net debt rose to $2.24 billion from $1.72 billion.
At the close of FY2025 (December 30, 2025), shares were priced at $80.75c, for a market cap of $25.3 billion. A P/E ratio is meaningless on negative earnings. Capital returns are rising: dividends reached $2.90 per share for FY2025, and in February 2026 the Board authorized $5.0 billion of buybacks.
Recent Developments (Q2 and Q3 2026)
Omnicom's earnings stepped up as IPG's full contribution arrived. Q3 2026 revenue was $6.42 billiond, versus $4.04 billion a year earlier, and diluted EPS rose to $2.38 from $1.75. Operating margin reached 15.4%, up from 13.1%, and Q2 2026 was 14.1%. Core organic growth held at 7.2%. Management expects $900 million of cost synergies in 2026. Cash conversion lagged: nine-month operating cash flow was only $37.8 million, and net debt reached $6.22 billion. On October 1, 2026, Jordan Farnam replaced Andrew Castellaneta as Chief Accounting Officer.
The bull case is 7.2% organic growth, rising margins and a Leverage Ratio of 2.3 times against a 3.5 times covenant. The bear case is weak cash flow, $3.21 billione of nine-month buybacks funded partly by debt, and a preliminary IPG purchase price allocation. Trailing EPS of $(0.27) makes P/E meaningless at $82.68 as of October 22, 2026, the latest quarterly report date, not today.
What to watch: operating cash flow recovery against the $5.0 billion buyback, due by April 2027; delivery of the $900 million synergy target

Andrew Castellaneta retired from his role as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, effective immediately, as of October 1, 2026, after more than 25 years at the company. The filing states he will remain an employee for a period of time to facilitate a smooth transition, and that his retirement is not the result of any disagreement with the company on matters relating to its operations, policies or practices.
