Rubrik Financial Overview 2025–2026

Updated Nov 4, 2026

Free cash flow jumped from $21.6 million in FY2025 to $237.8 milliona in FY2026, an elevenfold leap for a company that still reports losses. That matters because Rubrik is showing its subscription shift can produce cash well before GAAP profit arrives. The core thesis: growth is real and the cash engine is turning, but heavy stock-based compensation, channel concentration and insider voting control limit the quality of the story.

Revenue grew from $599.8 million in FY2023 to $1.32 billionb in FY2026, and FY2026 alone rose 48% from $886.5 million. Subscription ARR reached $1.46 billion, up 34%, while Cloud ARR climbed 48% to $1.29 billion. Gross margin improved to 80% from 70%. Net loss narrowed to $348.8 million from $1.15 billion, a prior-year figure inflated by IPO-related equity charges. Customers with $100,000 or more in Subscription ARR rose to 2,805 from 2,246. A $1.15 billion convertible note offering repaid the $327.9 million credit facility and lifted cash and short-term investments to $1.68 billion.

The market was less generous. Shares closed at $73.27c at the end of FY2025 and $55.95 at the end of FY2026, with EPS of $-7.48 and $-1.78, so no meaningful P/E exists at either date. The risks are concrete: the three largest channel partners generated about 68% of FY2026 revenue, and Class B holders control roughly 85% of voting power.

Recent Developments (Q1 and Q2 2027)

Rubrik raised fiscal 2027 guidance twice. Full-year revenue guidance moved to $1,638 million–$1,648 million after Q1, then to $1,685 million–$1,693 milliond after Q2. Free cash flow guidance rose to $323 million–$333 million.

Growth held steady. Revenue was $387.1 millione in Q1 (up 39%) and $427.3 million in Q2 (up 38%). Quarterly net loss was $41.9 million in Q1 and $61.8 million in Q2. Subscription ARR Contribution Margin rose to 14.0% from 9.4%. Retention slipped to over 119% from over 120%. A federal grand jury subpoena and an internal investigation into government contracts remain open. The board added Rakefet Russak-Aminoach.

Bull case: guidance keeps rising and cash generation is accelerating. Bear case: Q2 gross margin fell to 78%, and the investigation adds legal risk. At $88.40 as of the Q2 report date (2026-08-31), no meaningful P/E exists on $-1.78 annual EPS.

What to watch: gross margin recovery from 78%; resolution of the government contracts investigation
