02—Overview
Ralph Lauren Financial Overview 2022–2026
Updated Nov 4, 2026Ralph Lauren swung from a $121.1 million net loss in FY2021 to $941.1 milliona of net income in FY2026, and diluted EPS nearly doubled from $8.07 in FY2022 to $15.11 in FY2026. The thesis is that pricing power and mix, not just a post-COVID bounce, now drive the earnings. Gross margin has climbed every year since the FY2023 dip.
Revenue grew from $6.219 billion in FY2022 to $8.115 billionb in FY2026. The last year was the fastest in the stretch: 14.6% reported growth and 11.8% in constant currency, across all three segments. Gross margin reached 69.9% in FY2026, up from 64.6% in FY2023, and SG&A eased to 53.9% of revenue from 54.6%. That produced a 14.5% operating margin and $1.179 billion of operating income. Restructuring and other charges doubled to $118.1 million, a real drag, but earnings absorbed it.
Cash backs the story. Operating cash flow was $1.154 billionc in FY2026, funding $623.8 million of buybacks and withholdings, $216.5 million of dividends and $408.1 million of capital spending. Net cash and short-term investments slipped to $826.1 million from $940.4 million, and total debt was $1.239 billion. The market paid up for the improvement: shares closed at $215.68 at the end of FY2025, or 18.6x earnings, and at $327.82 at the end of FY2026, or 21.7x.
Recent Developments (Q4 2026 and Q1 2027)
Ralph Lauren opened Q1 2027 with 14% revenue growth to $1.96 billiond, ahead of company expectations. Gross margin hit 73.7%, up 140 basis points, as average unit retail rose 15%. Asia grew 24%, with China up more than 40%. Adjusted operating margin reached 18.7%, up 170 basis points. Management raised its Fiscal 2027 outlook to 5% to 6% constant currency growth, from 4% to 5% in May. The Q4 2026 quarter had set the pace, with revenue up 17% and Asia comparable sales up 25%. Chief Operating Officer Bob Ranftl will retire, and Halide Alagoz takes the expanded Chief Operating & Product Officer role on November 29, 2026.
Bulls point to pricing, Asia momentum and a raised outlook. Bears point to a valuation of 25.6x earnings as of the Q1 2027 report date (August 5, 2026), with inventories up to $1.164 billione and tariff refund uncertainty.
What to watch: inventory growth against sales; Asia comparable sales after the 23% gain
